I'm a big fan of sports stadiums so took a tour of recently opened Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins, who were on the road that day.
Target Field is plopped into a relatively tiny space, the most compact of all major-league parks. Some of the skyscrapers in Downtown Minneapolis can be seen over the outfield walls. The black digital scoreboard is so large an NBA court would fit on the inside. And the “river” running through the Twin Cities sign -- showing members of old Minneapolis and St. Paul teams shaking hands over the Mississippi -- is said to light up during rain delays.
