Minnesota's state Capitol in St. Paul was designed by Cass Gilbert, the same man who designed the U.S. Supreme Court and Woolworth buildings. The building was finished in 1905 at a cost of $4.5 million and features the world's second-largest self-supporting marble dome. As is my recent luck with these kinds of things, restoration work messed up some views inside and outside. There was an anti-tax protest being held on this day. That’s a Ron Paul banner being pulled by plane over the Capitol.
