The sun has just slipped over the mountains, leaving Lake Mary in a wonderful light. The lake, at about 9,000 feet a few miles from Mammoth Lakes, was frozen. That's normal this time of year but because the last measureable snow came a month ago, the lake surface was clear, perfect for skating and other fun stuff.
