This image doesn't adequately capture the scope of Kings Canyon. John Muir said Kings Canyon rivaled Yosemite in sheer beauty and there are moments when I think he's right. University Peak, a whopping 13,632 feet high, can be seen way off in the distance on the right. Mount Harrington, at 11,008 feet, is the most prominent peak in the forefront, in the top right center. Junction Ridge is center front, and divides the Middle Fork and South Fork of the Kings River. That's Highway 180 snaking down into the canyon on the right.
