Granary Burying Ground just off Boston Common is breathtaking in its importance to American history. Buried here are Samuel Adams, John Adams, Paul Revere, John Hancock, James Otis, the victims of the Boston Massacre and on and on. This cemetery opened in 1660.
This monument and the small gravestone to the right (which reads "Revere's Tomb") mark the burial site of Paul Revere. I was bothered that wayward bricks and rocks were just left there. Not sure why they were there but given Revere's impact on our history, seems like someone can find the time to keep the gravesite reasonably clean.
