Here are some photos from the 1967 USAC Champ Car race at Hanford Motor Speedway. They came from the race program for the March 1968 race at Hanford, which explains the goofy cutouts and driver's name in script lettering.

The quality isn't great but there's enough detail in some of these photos to give you some insight into the creative thinking behind some of the newer technology, such as turbocharging, and airflow and aerodynamics.There's enough detail in the Billy Vukovich photo to show his lips pressed tightly against his face mask.

Bobby Unser was driving this Ford V8 Rislone Special for Leader Cards Racing

A.J. Foyt Sheraton-Thompson Special was powered by a Ford V-8. Car owners were Ansted & Murphy in Indianapolis.Joe Leonard in a Ford V8 owned by Ve's Ford Racing Team in Torrance, Calif.Lloyd Ruby leads Roger McCluskey. Ruby was driving a turbocharged Offy (the "Gene White Offy Special"). McCluskey was driving the G.C. Murphy Special Ford V8 owned by Florida's Lindsey HopkisBilly Vukovich II of Fresno drove a supercharged Offy in the 1967 race for Agajanian & Jones.
